Hi there On a 351 cleavland there is breather tube that goes from the rocker cover to the base plate on the carb does it do any damage to get rid of it and blank it off ??? I read that the carbi sucking warm air from manifold isnt good ,, thanks david

That is your PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve. If you remove it and block off the hole (or even if it just gets blocked up with oil and gunk over the years) your oil leaks will become worse as pressure will build up in the crankcase (from even s

sorry would that be the same out come if i ran the breather tube to and air type filter (removed the Valve) and not to the carbie or does it need vacuume ???to vent the crankcase thanks for your help on this one ..

Nah, needs the vacuum mate. Some later cars have two fittings on the rocker cover...one for the PCV and one going to the aircleaner but never just one going to the aircleaner by itself.
The PCV will not harm your performance in any noticable way anyway
