Hi
I am in the process of purchasing a Torana which I have been told is a genuine SS. How can I check the VIN number to be certain it is genuine or not?
Cheers

You can telephone GMH on their 1800 number Melbourne and tell them you want the vehicle details. They will take the VIN number and send you a letter.it even says what day it was built and the options. At least that's a start, they won't tell you the detail

An SS will have the body code 8VD77
There are also 6 cylinder SS models and they have the same body code. The engine code will tell you whether it was originally a 6 or 8.
