I know we are not supposed to rubbish other makes but I could not resist this..
Just reading one of my old mechanics books and came across these instructions for strengthening the steering in a T model .
"Place a small piece of channel iron or steel tubing alongside the steering rods and place several layers of tape around, then sheelac the lot. Makes a permanent job."
With this setup he was able to go to 68 mph in his Ford.
I had to laugh when I thought of fronting the vehicle testers with a chunk of angle iron gaffer taped to the steering tie rods and heavily varnished.
Somehow I doubt it would pass.
Take a lot of guts though to drive a setup like that..
