I own a '69 ZC Fairlane (302 Windsor, 3speed column shift) and I'm doing research into putting a new crate motor in (302) and setting it up for gas (fuel prices skyrocketting).
the current motor and everything else is origional (and in very good cond. interrior is flawless) it runs perfectly.
I've had it for a year and the only thing I've replaced was the water pump. Corrosion had got to it as probably with all the other allow parts, so I'm figgering I've got a good 18months to 2 years before things like that start to give me some real trouble.
I drive it quite regularly so I want a mild performance engine that doesn't give me grief at the lights and the bowser.
All in all I'm looking for a solid set-up with a good note (isn't everyone).
Any advice & info. do's & don'ts is greatly apprecited.
I live in Perth so if you can recomend any suppliers or knowledgable folk in these parts to talk with I would be stoked!

If you are going to run straight gas the only real advantages that you will get from a crate engine are: Unleaded heads, Roller cam, newer (less worn) engine & the EFI inlet manifold.

It would be cheaper to just fit an EFI inlet manifold to your ol
