Is it possible to fit a Banjo diff pinion flange to a V8 salisbury diff pinion ? As I have a HQ sedan diff in my HK and am trying to run a 6cyl tailshaft to mate up to the t700 box. My only other option is to get a V8 rear tailshaft section grafted onto a 6cyl one. If I can fit the 6cyl one is it just a matter of using a rattle gun on the flange nut and swapping them over ? (with a new oil seal).

The banjo has the same size pinion shaft as the small sals in the VB-VK commodore 6 & 253, and these have pinion flanges in both 6 & V8 size.

You may want to try a guy in Sydney called Whatt the Diff Engineering. He advertised in Just Parts all thetime. He has a lot of crossover unis available. For eaxample I fitted aTurbo 400 to a tonner and used the standard shaft with a cross over uni from

You must have had a dodgy 1-tonner tailshaft as the TH400 and 1-tonner share the same 1 1/8" uni. Any HQ or HG with a 350 also had this same uni at the diff end. You are correct though that these crossover unis are out there. I had to use one when I
