A guy from work is going to give me the 202 and trimatic from his Wb ute, i'm just wondering if this would be the blue 202 or red 202?
If it is the blue motor what parts are inter changable with the red motor? eg: starter motor, alternator, trans etc...
I'm taking the crank for my 202 rebuild, but can i use the blue heads for a black 202 injection setup?
Cheers guys.

'red' motor is 9 port head, 'blue' motor is 12 port head. Must have 12 port head for fuel injection. |

Use the blue rods and dizzy as well. If the engine number starts with WL (or WM) then it's a blue 202. Most of the external accessories will bolt onto a red except for the inlet manifold. |

the 12 port is much better anyway. with injection it will pull nicely. starter, alternator etc will all bolt on.

Also swap the timing cover it gives better oil control. The starter is better because it is the smaller hi torque one makes it easy to get at when you have extractors.
