ehy guys i was wanting your help on a problame i have its not actually with my engin i dont think its just my carby or sumthink to do with the fule wen i am siting at a stand still and i go to give it a boot full it kinda rols a lil bit but it is really slow and feels like its about to stall its as if the engin doesnt pick up fast enought but if i back off then give it more it takes off like a bull at a gate advice would be appreciated

Hi Damo,

We need a bit more info mate.

What carb/exhaust/cam/dizzy do you have in it? Also, what car, gearbox and diff ratio are you running?

ok its a 186 its the standard rochester off a 202 i think stock cam gene extractors to 2 inch exaust and stock dizzy aussie 4 speed m20 and its got a diff ratio of 3.55 and its in a hx tunna

sounds like a flat spot...wear in the shaft of the carby will cause this...

Damo, with the engine turned off, take the airfilter off and look down the carb. While looking down the carb, work the throttle linkage (as if you were flooring it from inside). Just after you start

Sounds like accelerator pump to me, or maybe clean the carby.
