My steering box is leaking oil out the top via fasteners and adjuster (bubles out when hot). Is there any way I can easily fix this without pulling the unit.

V8 extractors are very close but I run header wrap.
I can see that over the years grease has leaked out the bottom but doesnt appear to be leaking at the moment.

I heard that grease can be used instead of oil (to reduce leaks) any one know this?
What lubricant should I use?
Can I seal the fasteners with non hardening permatex sealant?

The car steers fine but I need to stop the leak to pass rego inspection. I will get the box correctly rebuilt later.
