G'day all,
I was giving the new ute a once over, checking everything for tightness, changing or topping up all the fluids, checking brake pads etc. basically all the stuff you check when you buy a second hand car. Anyway I went to check the diff oil level, and noticed it had a tag on one of the bolts, which if I remember correctly, signifies it as a limited slip diff, but it has been painted black, so I cant read anything on the tag. I dont want to put the wrong oil into it, so I need to know how to check if it is LSD or not, I know it has been mentioned on here before but I never took any notice, because I never had one before and wasnt interested in putting one on any car I've ever had. so could somebody please help me out here. Thanks.Russ.

Hi Russ,

It is very likely your ute does have an LSD. The easiest way to check is to jack up the rear end, put her on jack stands and then turn one wheel. If the opposite wheel turns the opposite way (you turn the near wheel forwards and the far wheel
