last rego I was told I need to replace the upper controlling arm bushes on the front end of my LX torana. After getting prices all I've heard is that it's a time consuming job and it's been quoted between 200 and 400. Has anyone done this? Any tricks? Or is it in the too hard basket.

If it's not worth it to pull it apart I'll book it in, but I don't like other people touching my car.

Thanks :) Jess

Pull the arms off yourself, then march on down to Pedders and get them to press them in for you. Heaps cheaper that paying some mechanic to do it all for you.

Do you need spring clamps to take the arms off? I have to do the front shocks this weekend so if I don't need to clamp the springs I might just do that. Pedders quoted $430.00 to do the service.

Hi Guys.

On Toranas, you have to drop the front crossmember to remove the top arm from the car. The spring does not have to be removed to do this job.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Thanks for your help :) My partner is getting a mechanic at her work to do it for us, ordering the bushes in at cost. Still not as cheap as free, but you get that!
