I was at GM day in SA this year and spotted a HK Kingswood with 186 4 spd and bench seat (bommerang shifter) . I asked the owner about the shifter, He said it was his grandfathers car who ordered it that way from new , he then produced the books with a letter from the selling dealer about the gearbox and shifter fitment and additional costing all dated 1968 . the car was in very good original cond and was not for sale.

Hi cloudy.
These were a common option in early HK, before the Monaro release, but they were optional for HK/HT/HG 6 cyl passenger. They were similar to the HR shifter but the lever itself was 'flat bar', not round. There is a picture in the early HK sa |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
