Hey, finally found the source of the coolant smell coming from my EB. Turns out there was a slight leak coming from the front of the waterpump. So, I've got me a new pump ans am in the process of trying to replace it. However, I can't seem to manage to get the damn clutch fan off. Any tips for the home mechanic?

Yes I loosened the fan nut & then undid the shroud. You then continue to undo the fan & pull the fan & shroud up and out at the same time. This gives you heaps of room to change the water pump.

Cheers again.

I still haven't managed to get the bolt loosened after bending my two biggest screwdrivers. I'm going to let it soak in WD40 overnight, and if that doesn't do it, I'm going to try and remove the pump with the fan still attached, assuming

I imagine that you could but it would be fiddly. At least you would be able to clamp the impeller in a vice to get the fan off.

Too right. There's one water pump bolt that sits behind the harmonic balancer pulley, which looks like its going to be fun getting to. To remove the harmonic balancer pulley, is it as simple as undoing the four bolts on the front like the water pump pulle

Well I managed to get it done, eventually.

I bought the 32mm ABW Ford Waterpump Hub tool and found out the hard way that the V8 fan bolt isn't 32mm. Its a good 2 or 3mm larger. Oh well back she went.

Next option was to remove the pump with the fan s
