I've got a 77 ute, but i'm unsure what model it is. I need to get the emissions gear in order for an inspection, but I don't know what the engine is (HJ or HX).
The prefix is QL, but both the HX and HJ appear to have used this engine. As a result, I don't know what i'm going to need for the inspection. Thanks for ye help.

If you have ADR 27A on you compliance plate you will need at least the charcoal canister, other requirements for this ADR are related to cam specs, compression, idle screw adjustment and air preheat to satisfy the smog test.

The breakpoint from HJ to HX is approx engine number aaQx725750, with the x being D,E,L,M,R,S or T, and the aa being either nothing or 11. A 1977 Holden ute will be HX or HZ, not HJ though. Depending upon the state or the inspector, you may get away with |
