can someone there confirm that the car I'm about to purchase is a HJ GTS 4 door monaro colour manderin red/orange, trim chamois, 253, 4 speed.
the plates read
HJ8Q69, body 196278/a, trim 1890/60Y, paint 568/15953, engine L32, Trans M20, rraxel GU4

Those numbers do match what you list, but it would pay to get an expert to check out the car before parting with any big dollars.
Body plates are easy to change.

thanks for the info but how do i get that sort of thing checked out? I'm in adelaide and the car is in tassie.the whole interior trim is now black eg black carpet and door linings and seats reupholstered in blake,grey and red trim (velour)not sure about t

Get the owner to photgraph the plates. If they have normal looking rivets, I would be very suspicious. Then email or post them out
