I've been a 4 cylinder man since I was a young fella first fords & later mazdas but I thinking about getting myself a good old straight six holden ute, mainly because I think it will "do the job".
I have been lurking here for a bit, buying & reading various manuals and googling holden stuff too.
So where are the holden books & best places for "holden stuff".
When I first got into 4 cylinder fords ( in the early eighties ) there was a book called "tuning 4 cylinder fords" does a six cylinder holden equalavlent exist?
be warned I will be pestering all and sundry with (hopefully) not too silly questions about holdens.

There are a lot of tuning/hot up books for the red 6. Blue and black are basically the same unless you go injected.
try to form an idea what you actually want to achieve, maybe write notes to yourself for a few weeks and then put them all together and wo

Thanks john, at the moment I'm backgrounding & seeking some "basic holden truths"
The manuals and various sites are quite helpfull But I havn't seen many "serious" holden books arround. Perhaps I'm not traveling in car/ motorsport circles these days.

There's at least one really good auto bookstore in Brisbane but for the life of me I can't remember their name. I dealt with them on line a while back.
You may come up with it if you try Google.
There's also quite a few auto stores around who specialis

Pitstop bookshop in Perth is excellent. I recently bought an impossible to find VP V8 engine workshop manual off them. I ordered it at 3pm EST and it arrived in Newcastle the next morning all for $7. |

Theres a pretty good shop in melbourne called the technical bookshop. Its http://www.techbooks.com.au//home.aspx Not sure if they do online orders or anything.

As Byron said, the Pitstop book shop is excellent, especially for hard to get books (and their website is a good read too).
Another good place to research is Bevan D Young Books in Melbourne. His website also makes interesting reading.

Agree with Byron....Pitstop is about the best I've found, and they've always had everything I've been chasing.....very quick with service & delivery!
