Could somebody tell me what determines the best timing advance to run on a slightly modified 308- is it a case of O2 and plug colours only, secondly, when an electronic Dizzy is 'mapped' to suit the engine how can it be mapped unless its in the engine to determine the best result? Basic questions to some of you, but if it was a bike or jet ski engine I'd **** it in!

A correct distributor curve for any modified engine can only be accurately done using a dyno. This is what Holden do with the stock motors.
