Hi,
I want to convert my VXII Calais to LPG. It has a Supercharged motor. One mechanic told me the LPG conversion kits aren't that up to date yet for those engines, but another (from probably the biggest installer in NSW) told me they have done it before simply by putting a new fan belt on bypassing the supercharger. The loss of power doesn't bother me at all as I drive about 120km a day and am looking for a cheaper alternative. Will the motor be OK doing it like this?
Thanks - Brett.

I know it sounds boring but I would get more opinions from more gas fitters. 1/. LPG used to be a higher octane fuel than petrol thus requiring a slightly higher compression ratio than a standard petrol engine. Thanks for the replies and the link Jim5.0. I called a couple of the guys in NSW and was informed that they can and have installed LPG (on a supercharged VT) without changing the fan belt. One was quite concerned with the thought of doing that and would

Ring Impco in Sydney and ask them. 02 9699 7150. Their depot in Alexandria sells parts only and does not do installations. I bought enough parts off them late last year to convert a VP engine that I am using in a different make of car. I was
