guys i despratly need somone to decode my engine number and tell me what car the engine originaly came out off. engine number is qt33842, if u can help please email me at [email protected]

Q means it's from a HQ-early HZ model, and T means it's a 308.


You can work out the day it was made by reading the casting number off the front & decoding it.

Hi chris.


As commodorenut has said the block is a 308 HQ to HZ.


The serial number part, makes it an early HQ, most likely late 1971.


The fact that it does not have 11 in front of the QT indicates that it's not out of a Statesman.
