I think what you need to do this is a 3.48" stroke crank with LJ Chev rod journals (as opposed to Holden) but instead of using 350 Chev rods (5.7") and 377 (often reffered to as 383) pistons to suit 350 with 400 crank and 350 rods, you use 400 Chev rods a

Hi Guys.

I think nick is talking Holden V8 here, Byron.

VR & later 5 litre blocks will take the 355 Harrop crank, earlier blocks need relieving. The old trick of offset grinding a 308 crank & using 350 Chev pistons & small journal Chev Rods, gives a

308 to 350 stroker is what I was talking about. AFAIK you need a 3.48" stroke Holden crank that has LJ Chev rod journals in order to get away with making a 350 cube 308 without relieving the block. Exactly the same principal applies when turning a 350 int

Moe engines in Melbourne do it. McNaughton Engineering in Newcastle. G-Force in Newcastle. Many don't bother anymore though as it is cheaper to do a 308 to 350 stroker. The only time you'd really consider the 330ci stroker is if you want to use the stock

Thanks Byron. You're right, the 355 kits are getting pretty cheap. I've spoken to people about the RPM cranks that Sydney Speed Supplies have and they measure up pretty good for the price. I want to do a budget build for a streeter that won't see more tha
