The wifes EF has been using water, couldnt work out why, till today. Its been ending up in the sump and has been for a while!

The motor runs ok, perhaps a tiny stumble at idle as if the the injectors are dirty but otherwise runs perfectly so I dont think its a head gasket. Its never been overheated or flogged. Are these engines known for splitting a bore or more likely heads corroding out?
