Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone can advise on the following: On hot days, My HQ (202 with extractors mild cam and original 202 strommy)can develop an erratic spluttery idle. I have checked all the obvious blocked idle jet, vacuum leaks etc and all seems fine.

I have reached the conclusion that Optimax has a tendancy to vaporize when things get hot and that this is my problem.

A friend has suggested that if I wrap the extractors and possibly the fuel line in a heat reducing covering this may help drop the under bonnet temperature and minimise the problem.
I have seen similar on rally car exhausts so was wondering if this may help and if there are any downsides to doing this.
Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

Steve
