Hi,

I read quite a lot of used car ads, mostly old holdens of course. And mostly out of curiousity to see what people have done with their cars, what they look like, how much, etc.

But something I've been noticing recently, is that quite a few of the photos have the bonnets up slightly. Almost as if they first catch is caught, but the secondary lock hasn't been engaged.

What's the go with that? Is it some sort of secret code? Does it mean "no engine"? Sometimes this seems to be the case, but not consistently. Possibly the bonnet isn't back in alignment after a rebuild? Most of the ones I notice are too far out for that.

Are the owners just plain lazy? "I'll take photos for the ad, bonnet not shut properly, couldn't be bothered shutting, I'll just take the photo..."

These are running and registered vehicles, too, not paddock bombs or hulks.

What am I missing?

Cheers,
Jason.
