Hi Guys
My BRAND NEW SVZ Wagon has had a serious vibration thru the whole body when under load or going up an incline , it begings at 80k's and goes up as speed increases, when you decelerate it mostly dissapears.
It seems to get worse after the car is warmed up and you cut down some k's.
Holden dealer service can't find the problem, after 3days trying,
they said they have swaped the
tail shaft
rear drive shafts
all wheels and tyres , all to no avail. it seems Now they have given up.
is there anyone out there who could suggest a fix.
this is very dissapointing for a new car..any suggestions would be helpful.

Buggered torque convertor clutches cause this issue in VR/VS commodores.

Maybe you have a similar issue? They still run the 4L60E box behind them.

Cheers,

My old Rodeo had the same prob. Check the front wheel bearings for grease ! Remember early Ford Territories came out from the factory with no tranny fluid. Mistakes happen.

Just coss its new doesnt mean it has been checked.

If your Dealer doesn't want to know, take it to another Dealer and get them to look at it. They'll be happy as they get to bill Holden for their time/parts...

What did they come up with.

I have a similar vibration in my VN (pronounced going up inclines, particularly after travelling a bit) but occurs at 40 - 60 kmh (and doesn't depend on gear / revs).

Have replaced all rear suspension bushes, gone back

Very sorry to hear mate. It's a bit out there but may I suggest contacting someone like Today Tonight? If they are interested in your story you could blackmail Holden into a new car. ;)

My mates VZ had a similar typed vibration , had the same problems with the dealers , ended up being the hand brake shoes binding , which he had suggested they check on the first 3 or 4 visits .

Forget all of the above,

While it's still debatably new, you should walk in, throw the keys at the dealer and yell "give me a NEW car (cause thats what u paid for) if they baulk say you want a replacemnt until that one is fixed".

Don't take delivery

Anonymous Tom,

Sounds at least like your making headway (re new diff arriving).

Can you tell me, did this vibe develop from new or was it there when you took delivery ?

Very slowly, that's Because they supplied a Faulty Second Diff, which I believe they don't even test, they just assume they are OK because they are "NEW".
