Ok, In the near future, Im looking at purchasing an Air Compressor for my Air Brushing, With the odd Panel to be Spayed. Im looking at some thing that will push paint thro a HVLP Gravity feed gun(Clear).

I know that after my first Compressor (9cfm) Direct drive, I want go that route again......."Im sorry did you say some thing" :) And the size is pointless.

So, whats everybody been useing? or would use?

Oh, and does any one know the convertion from 'Free Air Delivery' to cfm? (FAD 186/min) (FAD 251/min)

I`m not sure on the specs of mine , up to 17cfm I have been told .its a clisby 1200 3 cyl unit , runs what ever I have put on it, orbital sanders ,rattle guns, air wrenches, etc.

Get a bunch of blokes talking about compressors and you will get some prety vigorous responses, some some on the mark some absolute BS.

My workshop compressor is a little out of the ordinary. I built mine from a refrigeration unit. 4 pistons in V formation, belt driven with a 5HP three phase electric motor.

The usual air brush uses one of those tiny little compressors about 2cfm so I don't see why you would have any problems with a $100 or so kit. I have a 14cfm but I do a bit of sand blasdting with one of those hobby sand blasting kits and the 14/15 cfm jus

a few more ravings follow.
This "free air delivery" that is suposed to be the "new standard" for expressing the capacity of a compressor I recon is as much BS as any of the other methods.
All it tells you is the capacity of the pump with no load and how

You are right on the danger clutch. I have a Wagner airless spraygun and the instruction book reminds every second page to never run the air on your skin. In fact the nozzles have a guard thing that makes it impossible to run closer than about 2 cm to the

Yeah sorry i was'nt too clear on what my needs where. I was looking for a compressor for "Clearing" my work after the Air Brush work.
With the odd car sprayed down the line. And possibly pannels, Tanks, Helmets. etc.

But with what i have seen posted f
