wonderin if anyone can help? have quaud carby, has been runnin on gas for awhile, am tryin to get it to run on petrol till gas system goes on conversion, it runs by pumping vigorously, but then dwindles and stops, have tried adjusting idle screw to max, have adjusted cable to pull throttle open, but to no avail?
carby has been cleaned and it should run,
any help would be mucho apreciated,

gas dries carbys out and can warp them to with not running petrol for great lengths of time, sounds like a rebuild is in order if its not warped.I have had quads that carby shops wouldnt exchange if they had been solely gas carbs.

Overtime the Butterfly shafts can wear at the sides and suck air.

Sometimes u can counteract the lean mix by adjusting the mix screws at the front, but u may hafta pry out the steel caps over the screws if they have never been adj b4.

hey thanks everyone, a friend suggested letting out the 2 screws on the front, and i finally got it to idle, but i think it issucking air, so i am putting new base gasket on it, as this has been off and on a couple times, but basically, all it has to do
more than basketcase than a bear!
DOH!!!
