I have a stock 253, well I think its stock as I bought it complete.
It currently runs a M21 with a 4 speed but I now I would like to change
it over to an automatic.
What would be the most suitable auto for it, the vehicle its going in is a 5th month 1975 Toyota Crown and it weighs 1450kgs standard.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

V8 Trimatic. HQ-WB if you want a right hand shift or VB-VL if you want left hand shift. VK/VL is the pick.

Hi Bryon,
What do you mean by right or left hand shift maybe its something to do with where the shift cables attach to the gearbox.
Thanks
Fred.

Basically, but shift rod not cable. Trimatics exist with shift mechanism on either side. Just get whichever suits the T-bar in the crown.
