Hello All,

Are there any sites with information with regard to the type of exterior paint used by Holden's over the years from 1948 to the present day? EG. When was acrylic lacquer used, what type of paint is used today?

Regards

Hi gts_hg.

From '48 to mid '60 GM-H used Nitrocellulous Enamel, from mid '60 to March '94 they used Acrylic Lacquer & from '94 to current they use 2-pack.

Is the mid sixties change in the middle of the HK production?

Hi Guys.

No, I wrote that badly. I meant in the middle of the year 1960 (i.e. June 1960 Mid FB).

Hi Fellas,

So why did they move from acrylic to 2-pack? What makes 2-pack better? If I want to paint my old Torry (Don't know what I'm doing, but I'll give it a go) which is better?
