Hi guys, i have bought a hz ute with a 350 chev in it . The engine number prefix is QU , which according to some of my holden manuals , defines the engine as a 350 out of a hq holden. Is this correct ? And if so is it worth anymore than a normal 350 would be. It also has a standard chev number on it , but the QU is stamped in the larger letters like a normal holden engine number.Any advice would be appreciated , thanks.

Definitely worth more than a normal 350 to the right buyer. It is out of a HQ non-Statesman, probably a GTS350 coupe or sedan, but possibly also an LS350. The car has a t400 in it .I bought it to do up and sell , but was debating whether or not to sell it for parts as the body is a bit average.there doesn,t seem to be an 11 in front of the QU.

Send me the engine number and hang on for a few days. Will definitely be worth more in bits. If you can get to it, have a look also at the code on the aluminium plate on the side of the TH400. If it starts with 71, 72 or 73 it is also out of a HQ. |
