Trying to work-out how to get the best efficiency from the old girl. Currently fitted with a carb 308 & I've been playing with the idea of going back to a 6cyl. I've been reading alot of the old threads on VK injection & was just about convinced when someone gave figures that said a VN 5lt was comparable in fuel economy (?!) Scince I've already got most of the v8 gear there, I was wondering -
What uses less fuel (driven the same) a VN 5.0 litre or a 202/186 with VK injection? Also, do the injectors for the vn go into the manifold? Would this mean you can adapt a red motor manifold to have efi or do I have to change the heads (really don't want to)? Does anyone know of aftermarket injection systems that are comparable to a multi-point set up.....? Can you get an after-market multi-point set-up...?
The Beige Hornet.

The amount of work required to fit a VK EFI or a VN 5L is just about identical. Both are fairly easy, as compared to a transplant like a VL 3litre or a VN-VT V6. The economy comparasin between the 5L and the 3.3L both EFI may well be true, BUT the only r |

Hi Guys.
To answer the other part of the Hornet's query, the main reason the VN-VS 5 L V8 is so efficient is, apart from the ECU design is the good head & manifold design. If you want to take shortcuts & try & convert the existing head & old carby mani |

! How did I know you guys were going to say that! I had all the plans ready for the 202! I'm just trying to get the best economy with the lowest instalation cost, & retain some power - a hard ask, I know. I've got an aussie pattern box (v8 3spd) which I w

You can still have a column change with a TH700. Front bench seat Commodores have this.

Firstly, all you have to do to keep the 3 speed and fit a complete VN/VP 5.0L is to buy a Dellow/Castlemaine 308TH to aussie 4spd bellhousing to suit push clutch fork. Use your 308's flywheel, sump and pickup and engine mounts and you have the motor in pl |
