Very Mildly Worked 308, extractors, baby cam, edelbrock manifold. better choice in carb 465 or 650??

All advice I've recieved to date is to fit a Quadrajet. You can get rebuilt ones from Hume performance for about $400 which is about the same as the alternative Holley 600. Holley 650 I'm not sure about but the 600 on my 308 gave pretty poor fuel economy

dont know if this helps but ive had one on a fairly stock 350 chev .very good responce and fair economy.only bad thing ive heard is they a tendancy to get hot and warp the base plate,which is what happened to mine. also had 650 on same engine with big cam

I have an early quad on my 350 in the 66 pontiac this carb has a cast iron base, goes well too.

Had a great HC 253 with a cam - tried both. Seemed to go harder with the 600 (68 jets) but drank more. Put on a Rottie - not impressed. Put on a re-built Rottie & very impressed. Fuel consumption came down to 13L/100k's, & plenty of power once the seconda

To the beige hornet, the qjet i got has been reco'd and has slightly larger jets put in it. a set of GM heads a getting put on the engine so u reckon the roch will do the job??

The Rottie worked well for me, but I don't know what size it was. Doing the maths all a 308 needs is a 500, but you rarely see one with anything smaller. If you have both it's not too hard to try each of them & see. Holleys are easier to work on, but appa
