I have to put a new exhaust system on the wood soon because its kinda caved in (thanks to my brother taking it bush bashing after on a trip across the nullarbor) and it leaks like a sive. Currently its got a twin system with the mufflers still attached (got a licky for noise before when I had hot dogs in their place - it was kinda loud). I'm thinking the same again in 2". Is it worth going any bigger for a stock 308 or will this sap power? no extractors yet, but could be on the cards. Any ideas appreciated.

going to big may loose some back pressure i would think , extractors will help the motor to breathe = more power +slightly better fuel economy.
what about a 2 1/2 single system .

I have a 2.5 inch single system on a 308 stock motor. Still runing factory manifold too, but hope to change that in time to extractors. Anyway the current system works well, has a good note. Your choice of muffler will dictate the quality of sound. So
