Did HJ GTS 4 door monaro's ever come out with the HQ style centre console (the one with the lid at the front).

yes they have the front compartment with hinged lid.

but is it the HQ centre console, or a modified HJ-WB one? as i have seen the HJ ones been modified with that compartment at the front.

hj onward had a high back console with thick padded armrest.

hq had the flat console no armrest..2 styles..1 had small cutout at rear which held the non retractable seat belt storks/floppy type..2nd style had large centre cut out open box type.both had flip up hinged lid and pocket at the front..hj had armrest with |

It's interesting to note that the long HQ console with the long cutout, will if you wanted to, would take the long centre console pad. The bracket fits in nicely and the pad is the correct length. It makes it look finished. Dont know why GMH didnt do it !

no...they are not the same body....what rare spares sells as listed hj to hz including wb commercial is not correct....should be hx to hz and wb commercial....duzty,you work for rares,go and get a console shell and try to fit the hq lid and shifter insert |

Greg is right, the HJ console is a bit of a mix of the HQ front with flip up lid and the same high rear lid as the HX/HZ. I guess it just slowly evolved. You cannot put the HJ/HQ front lid on the HX/HZ console as it has no mount or pocket for it. I have a |

ok here is the story. as said in this thread, the Rares descriptions of our consoles are HJ-WB. therefore thats what i tell people. i had a customer with an all original very mint condition HJ GTS 4dr. he said his console had a lid, i said must be HQ, as
