Can anyone coment on whether it's worth paying the extra for an HSV? I recently wrote off My VX S model which I really loved but I spent a bit trying to get it to sound like a throaty V6 lowered and it looked the part but I was always wondering if I should have spent the extra $15000 for the hsv. It seems like a lot extra or would it be better to buy a v6 and just spend money on an hsv body kit big bore etc. I sort of looked into a kit and it's going to work out pretty costly by the time you get it fitted and painted. Um! what do your think?

i wanted a VX Clubsport but ended up buying a VX SS. With the money i saved to done a few good mods to it. The biggest killer for me with 65% no claim bonus was $900 insurance for the SS and $3500 for the HSV. And nobody looks at it. its just another stan

I would buy an SS and mod the motor, ie coated extractors, cam, chip and exhaust system. I wouldn't change the manifold and throttle body unless there was one available off the shelf.
I would also get a shift kit if auto and a brake upgrade kit.

My mate just bought a VX GTS for $34,000. Absolutely immaculate. But unbelievably quick. Makes a stock LS1 feel like an old V6. But having said that I'd buy a holden build. My CV8, sold new 3/2003 was $29,000 in 2/2006. It had 29,000kM on it. You should |

Text = I could do all those modifications to a car but at the end of the day if I have to pay for them I might as well just buy an HSV and be done with it. In past experience when modifying a holden e.g throttle body etc Edited by user Saturday, 11 November 2006 12:38:30 AM(UTC)
