Hi,
I read with interest the recent thread on *removing* window tint... well now I'm after some advice and experience with *adding* window tint!
Every second window tinting ad you see or hear talks about "Darkest Legal Tint". Now, I've seen some comparisons of what you can and can't see in poor light through dark tint, and am wondering if it's actually safer to choose a compromise... don't go quite as dark, so you don't lose as much visibility.
I'm mainly after window tint to reduce glare from inside a new car, not so worried about people seeing in/privacy, etc.
So what are people's experiences with these "Darkest Legal Tint"? Is anyone unhappy with it? Any suggestions? I will be going to a professional to have it fitted once I have a bit of info behind me.
Thanks, Jason.

IMO the metal films are the way to go. They tend to reflect a little, so have a slight mirror finish when looking straight on, but do a much better job of reducing heat and glare.
I had 35% (legal limit in NSW) metal film put on one of my cars a while |

Thanks Mick,
That's exactly what I was after - I was a little concerned about loss of outward visibility, but it sounds like it's fine.
Thanks for the advice.
On a lighter (pun intended) note...

I was nearly going to say you "won't look back...... or maybe you won't stop looking back at how good it looks!"
You really only get into outward visibility issues when you approach illegal levels of darkness.
Personally, I can't understand those wh |
