Hey all, I got an alarm system that I pulled outta my VK and I wanna fit it to my HX PV. I got the diagram for the alarm. but I just dont know what wires are what in the PV. All I really need to know is what wire goes to the starter motor. cause thats the one I gotta splice into the alarm system. there are HEAPS of wires under there and there are multiple wires with same colour just different guage wire. Can anyone tell me which one I am supposed to use for my alarm? I know I can get test light and go through them ALL. but DAMB THERE ARE ALOT! Regards ALDO

If you are confident reading an electrical diagram, the Gregories manuals are a great start, as they show location, colour, etc, of wires under the dash.
Cheers, Jason.

Hi ALDO.
The wire you need is the purple soleniod wire that originates from the ignition switch. If you car is or was an automatic then it also appears at the inhibitor switch (at the column or floor shift), this is the easiest place to splice into. If |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

hey guys. The wire comin from the starter is a purple wire. but the only purple wire that goes up into the ignition doesn't disable the starter. from what I have gathered the car has negative polarity. so do I need to use a meter and attach to constant

Check the solenoid on the starter, there is a thin wire going to it. Probably purple i can't confirm, trace that wire back to under the dash. you cut into it as Terry said. The wire is only live when the switch is turned to START. it is not live normally.
