Hey guys I've got what I believe to be an original Sandman, below are the tags and if you could decipher them that would mean a million!

Also could someone please tell me where the engine and chassis no's are located?

I was told the van is a 253 but I don't know how to tell!

Your VIN and engine code indicate a 308 is the original engine fitted. The VIN matches the body number.

The CH should be a 8M. 8 is Holden and M is a Holden ie base model.

70 is a Panelvan.

T is a 308.

E is built between 1 Sept 1974 and 31 Aug

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

Another one of those damn HJ Sandmans that turn up from time to time with XX7 on the BODY plate, but with 2200kg on the ADR plate. Either the BODY plate should read XU3, the ADR be 1950kg, or the ADR plate doesn't belong to the BODY plate. As I've found h

the chassis number on my hq ute is stamped on top of the chassis just in font of were the brake block is mounted on the right hand side cheers
