Howdy,
A mate & I have this 'great' idea. He's got a spare 1959 Hillman Minx, I've got a spare aussie 308. We were thinking of going dry lakes racing & maybe change diff ratio's & have a chop at some drags. We're both amatures (in most senses of the word) so the whole set-up is going to be very simple, & very, very old school. Matt reckons a hot 202 would be a better option & would fit more easily, as we dont want to chop up the car too much (I'm just being ambitious & the 308's sitting there doing nothing - what a waste!). I'll start looking into all the rules etc, but has anyone got any knowledge / experience of this set-up being used before? It's all just for a bit of fun. I'm not sure just yet how e'll go about it, I'm wondering weeather to modify the Hillman x member (& strengthen everything ofcourse, or to try & fit a HR K member....?

Decided Lakes are too far away. Maybe bracket racing drags or circuit. A registered hot 202 in an Anglia... I wonder if we couldn't register it afterall......

Anyoo, it is a long term project. Matt has to finish his current project & I'm still in the m

In the late 70s there was a 186 powered 69 corolla that did 12s. Light car good power always works well. Not sure how heavy the minx would be a LC 4dr 308 trimatic and 9inch and full trim was 2700lbs.I was once told by an old racer anything is possible. S

I reckon the 'what the..' factor would be half the fun. You get tired of seeing yet another VR commodore with 20" chrome rims....

We also have a '69 hillman hunter with the massive 1725cc engine, it powers the car quite well. Anyway the story is - several years ago i bought some parts of a guy who was fitting in a 351 to his hunter. He had it dummy fitted, he had to cut some of the
