Creaking from front left of car. Steering related?

1976 HX ute
Hey guys, my Ute has been creaking quite a lot from the front left of the car, think its something to do with the steering or suspension, possibly the bushes, but haven't had a chance to have a good look.... basically when i steer at all it creaks from the front left...
Is there anywhere that I need to oil, or easily inspect the bushes?
Any other suggestions?

replace the upper control arm bushes,sooner rather than later, they need to be pressed in, so take it to a mechanic if you do not have the correct tool.

Argh. Just had Pink slip done too... I'm sooo over spending $ on the car at the moment...........
