I am currently running a standard diff in my HD, howerver the dragway mags on the rear have been inverted and to suit the offset the guards have been flared, the wheel track is around 10mm wider both sides(of cours),my question is if i used a VH/VK diff would I have to shorten it to fit cause I just don't have $2300 for a cut down VN diff.

pop down the wreckers with a measuring tape, it would be narrower than a vn though

It depends which VH/VK diff you mean, there are3 different widths. Also, aside from the axles, you have to do nearly as much work to fit a VH/VK diff as you do to fit a VN diff.

What I mean by that is, say you found a diff that was the

Get and old solid axle Volvo diff. Tough as nails, correct width and right stud pattern. Plus rear discs to boot!

Thanks for the info, Im sure I can get my hands on a VN diff I just need some one to cut it up. I'm in Sydney, anyone got any contacts? As for the Volvo diff what model would a bloke be looking for if he found himself wandering around Pick and Payless wre

Righto volvo diffs basically you have the one series from 1968-1975 142/144/164/145. 144 is a one series 4 cyl 4 door 164 is a 1 series 6cyl 4 door 145 you guessed it 4cyl wagon. These ran 15inch wheels with a fairly pronounced positive offset (no dish at

I had my VP cut down for $800 they just shortened one side and I purchased a second hand short side axle.

Has anyone actually fitted a volvo diff into a HR.We are at that stage on my HR and it sounds like a good option to try. I would like to find out if I will have to run 14 inch rims and if the brakes match up ok with the HR system.Tailshaft and handbake ca
