i have put a ew genuine waterpump on my wb v8 and im finding its weeping coolant around the heater spout on the pump, it only happens when the engine is cold. ive tried a new hose, clamp, different clamp positons etc. it appears that the casting of the spout is not perfectly round. is there any trick to stop this from weeping

Sounds like the drain hole in the pump. Best bet is replace it. Cheers, John

its not the drain hole. its from where the hose goes onto the heater spout

Try using some Aviation Gasket Cement on the inside of the hose.

If it is a new pump do not try and do any thing except return it for an exchange. I have had three non genuine pumps in a row(same car same job) leak from the tell tail hole. Buy genuine next time.

I had the same prob with my thermostat housing, leaked when cold. I tried everything, sanded it smooth, silastic, new hose, two clamps, different positions...gave up and bought a new one. Problem solved...Wonder if it was porous near the hose ?? If so you

I only believe its porus because mine was and it only leaked when cold like yours, when it heats up the aluminium expands sealing the leak. If it was leaking cause its out of round it would leak constantly.......(in a perfect world).

i remember the inlet manifolds on the vk fuel injection were porous thats why they painted them might have worked with thermostate housings.

It's a dud. Don't waste your time take it back before it runs out of warranty.
