There's usually a wealth of information here but I guess it's a comonly asked question, so everone's waiting for someone else to answer it. For my money with $1500 dollars I'd get a good manifold with a Holley 350, 390 or 465. Electronic ingnition from a

Thanks Hornet,
I'm sorry if I upset you but I'm just asking a general question, I did do several searches for this info here but couldn't find anything.

Thanks for the help a couple of questions first, is the red 186 the same block as the red 202 and it saids since the Yella Terra heads for red 202's aren't available anymore it states a Blue or Black head is a better option. Could I still use the same ext

same block..same bore size..different stroke crank.

YT heads aren't available new for reds...get a second hand one off ebay. If you fit a 202 head (either red/blue/black) then you need to fit 202 pushrods.

The manifolds are not interchangeable....yo

My recipe:

Blue/black crank and rods, 179 or 186 head with posts removed, 186S inlet and headers (or extractors if you must), WW Stromberg or Weber, HEI dizzy, full balance. No more than 9.5:1 compression with a mild cam. There is no need to go for the
