could some one tell me what sizes could i have a 253 bored to from standard to maximum thanks and cheers

Maximum oversize is 60 thou on diameter.

Standard bore is 3.625" so maximum would be 3.685" or 93.599 mm.

Some blocks will fail on bore thickness because of core shift so from block to block the maximum will vary.

If you more capacity from a 253

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

Couldn't agree more. There is little point exploring overboring a 253 for extra capacity, when all you need to change to convert a 253 to a 308 is the block and crank. The rest is the same, ignoring the valley and carby and piston size of course. If the n
