Lets just say the power steering unit has been over filled, will it discharge the excess fluid form anywhere on the steering box.

I have only ever seen overfills come back out the filler cap.

It must be a worn seal around where the shaft enters the steering box, I put a bottle of power steering stop leak in it yesterday, this will have to do until I can replace the box in 2 weeks after I get back from the sunshine coast..
