HJ GTS coupe, followed by HJ LS coupe then HX LE coupe, then probably a toss up between HJ/X/Z GTS sedans.

Byron has listed them in order of rarity for you and therefore collectibility, but I would suggest buying the one that appeals to you the most.

For me it's actually a HJ GTS sedan. That will be the next car added to my collection.

Why? I used to h

each one of the sedans for different reasons, the hj 308 240bhp less emisions , hx great paintouts, hz handling , I also like the curvy HQ look SS and GTS sedans ,all monaro`s are worth preserving sedans and coupes and both are going up in value.

Hi cloudy.

I agree with your engine choice, but the HJ 308 has 250 bhp. It is the best basic 308 of the HQ/HJ/HX/HZ series. It has a higher comp ratio than the HQ 308 & better cam timing. This engine was also used in the LH/LX Toranas from Nov '74 to J

My predictions on the 4 door GTS would be:

HJ GTS for the 250hp 308
HZ GTS for RTS
HQ GTS
HX GTS

For coupes, HJ GTS, HX LE then HJ LS

Although the HJ GTS and HX LE could be reversed as mst want nice cruisers and the LE is more of a cruiser.

My pick is HQ LS Coupe, followed by HQ GTS coupe, then whatever else you like. Had a HQ LS 253 4 on floor manual was a beautiful sports tourer. Went up and down NZ in it, never missed a beat. Dodgy little jappas soon shuffled out of road with 4 lights
