I have the code but dont know how to put it in the radio has got only up to 6 bands

OK, it sounds like yours is a TS Astra.
The way it's coded is very German, but logical in a funny way I suppose.
Say your code is 4567. You press the AS button until your hear a beep, then press the no. 1 button 4 times, the no. 2 button 5 times, the no. 3 button 6 times & the no. 4 button 7 times. Finally press the AS button again until you hear a beep & it should then come to life.
