Actually it would be a good upgrade to the wife's ute which has an R/T 2 barrel 265 engine in it at the moment. The owner of the Charger that this engine came from would like his original engine back to return his car to matching numbers.

I wonder if he'll give my wife $15K for her engine? I doubt it.

There was a similar bare engine block on eBay a few years ago for about $17K. Probably worth it to the owner of the Charger that left the factory with that engine number but not to others same with the one mentioned above.

This one brings amusement and frustration at people's stupidity
"1973 Holden HQ Kingswood Sedan. Suit GTS SS Clone. 1 Owner! "

He then goes on to describe how he bought it off the person who bought it off the original owner so he is obviously unable to count past one let alone counting to three.

I had the same sort of thing recently.. A clown was advertising a car as one owner, Called him up and asked him all about the car, he couldnt tell me most of it. I said didnt you buy it new. He said no it used to be owned by a guy in Canberra. I said well it isnt 1 owner then is it.

"yes it is, it has never been registered in my name, so it has one registered owner"

That added to the other crap he was talking.. I didnt buy the car.

This one made me chuckle "DON'T BUY CHEAP CHINESE PLUGS THAT WILL FAIL IN THE SHORT TERM
THESE PLUGS ARE QUALITY MANUFACTURED IN TAIWAN"

http://www.ebay.com.au/i...NECTOR-CAR-/250958611820

Last time I checked Taiwan was part of China.

Actually Jim, Taiwan isn't part of China. Though China does want it back. I know the add reads funny but the electrical stuff from Taiwan is better quality ( as a rule ) than mainland China. Ever pull a loom out of an XA or XB? Made in Taiwan. Actually that's not really saying much about the quality of Taiwanese parts. LOL.

Minimal rust!!!

http://www.ebay.com.au/i...Cars&hash=item3f159c844e

They must be 'speed' holes in the plenum then.........

If it's gone there, then its gonna be bad in a lot of other spots, plus that's a bitch of a repair in itself!

"Genuine barn find" judging by the "slight rust" I would say that this wreck has not been stored in a "barn" for many years.

"left sitting out in the elements for 20 years find" might be a better description.

It looks better than most unfinished projects but the price?

Also 302 + Toploader + XB was that an a available combination? I thought that if you ordered a 302 XB with a 4 speed then you got a single rail box & if you wanted a toploader then you had to option a 351 to spin it.

the guy doesnt eplain it too well but being a K code car means it was a 351 from factory but it means the original motor is gone as its now a 302. Depending on what year it was made it could have also been a 4 speed borg warner box as the toppy became extinct during the XB run. The price is over top as the bubble burst a long time ago. What we have is a coupe thats has a modded interior, a non original engine and a body I'd want insepcted well before even considering making a offer. What do you think the car is worth Jim? I've been out of the loop for a bit but I do know prices havent recovered much if at all since the last crash.

I don't know what XA XB XC Hardtop prices are like as I gave up on the idea of being able to afford one about 15 years ago.

Despite them being nice you could get an awful nice early Mustang for that sort of money.

There is a fellow selling a bare 4 cylinder Capri shell on eBay for $4,500 but he says that it's a really good shell. He has had no bids and it's on it's second listing.

Also keep in mind that K appears at the end of the model number or VIN number, I can't recall now, and 3/4 of all Ebay clowns think that makes it a K code car. They don't have a clue!

As he appears to be a dreamer, I'm tipping it was always a 302 car, Y code.

The car looks to have been 'restored' (insert huge belly laugh here) by someone who knew just enough to screw it up without destroying it. I reckon it would be worth anywhere from $8000 to $15000 depending on just how much its been screwed up and its hiding.

Reason being, there is no coupe buyer out there that will not want to respray it, re-interior it and re-engine it. Its a complete resto project no matter how you look at it and this seller is on crack!
