Hi Carl.

If this car is an LX Sunbird it will have an Opel 1900 4 Cyl not a Starfire. Starfires weren't fitted until partway thru the UC series in 1978.

Opel engines are painted black & have the carby on the RH (Driver's) side of the motor

Thanks Dr Terry.Turns out it's a UC with the Starfire engine so it looks like a six will bolt straight in.He initially told me it was a 77 sunbird and i remembered someone mentioning once that indeed the front end needed changing if it were a 4 but i didn

You'll also need a 6cyl tailshaft and to move the gearbox rearwards, meaning a new hole in the floor. The 3.9:1 diff will piss you off after a while too
