Hi Guys,

I have a 96 VS V6, with only 190,000k's on the clock. Yet it uses about 1 litre of oil per 1000k's.

I have heard that it could be the ring gap, and been like it since it was new. Or the Valve stem seals... Any ideas?? I dont want to get ripped blind by a mechanic telling me lies, so i want to go in armed with the facts.

has anyone come across this before and what is the fix??

cheers

Could well be your oil rings or valve stem seals. Suggestion have a compression test done by a Mechanic, and have him write down the compression to each cylinder.
If the compression is less than about 120 PSI you have problems as stated above.
