A quick question, did the HQ come out with rod style mechanical linkages on the 202 or all cable linkages, id rod style how do I convert to cable????? do I need to change the carby? pedal woudl be different as well I imagine? Cheers Matt

all HQ's has linkage acceletators.
when i converted my HQ to cable i used an HZ pedal, but had to modify it so that it hole was in the right posistion to line up with the triangle plate i made to replace the linkage plate. i have photo's i can email if

When I did the efi conversion I had to go cable. I got a HJ pedal and base, the HJ bolts to the floor so easy to get, later ones are welded. Then I had to cut a side slot in the top of the pedal bit so the efi cable would go in, and I made up a triangle p

Oh yes you do have to change the carbie I am pretty sure the carby body link thingies are not interchangeable but not sure on that.

Thanks John, that is what I was thinking it looks like the cable mounts to a braket screwed into the carby, and to get that bracket I thought I would have to swap carby to get cable. As for pedal that sounds like an option, rare spe\ares do a commodore s |

Hi Matt, The Qute was already cable converted before I bought her, but I have converted an LJ from linkages to cable. So what are the disadvantages of rod style linkages? I'm actually starting to like them - you can play with revs of the engine just by reaching!
Cable more responsive or something?

i find a cable gives a much better feel, i will email photo's when my dad brings my digital camera back in a couple of hours, i forgot i only had pics of triangle plate and not the pedal. the total cost of the cable conversion was $0 i got the pedal an Edited by user Monday, 9 January 2006 6:32:10 PM(UTC)
