we pulled a very tired blue 202 which had done about 110 000 k,s on lpg out of an 84 WB ute and slotted in a less fkd red 202 along with changing from a 3 speed on the tree to 4 0n the floor.. all work well no knocks no oil leaks and runs ok on the gas just vavle noise... anyhow i want to see what kind of build we can do for this blue motor it's standard bore, (still has GM hone marks.) the head has been replaced twice with a lpg/ unleaded picked up from repco at a rip off price.... the last one lasted only 18 months hence the swap of motors this time...

so any idea,s would be great i was thinking along the lines of lil more power and tourqe.

basicly i can put together anything i just need the parts or the right parts to do so.

C'mon Peter, i would have thought you'd suggest running it on gas with a supercharger!!

My suggestion, get a nice cam from the Crow Cams catalogue and some headwork (along with the usual rebuild stuff). Should go alright! Then get some extractors and

If you get a black VK injected motor you get a (veryclose to) XU1 cam as stock. Except the valve timing is a bit retarded to get better emissions at idle. I don't understand how a motor that has only done 110000 is stuffed. You say the bores still show th

Definitley get a gas cam, they give you nice smooth torque. That combined with the extra torque of a 202 will certainly give you good towing. My motor had a LPG torque plus cam, stage 3 head when it was first built and it was very smooth. 135 rwhp on the

The octane of gas is nowhere near 110 octane these days,u used to be able to run 11.1 comp in the eighties on gas but not these days,to much butane, the octane would be closer to 95 at best, and gas is to inconsistent in quality these days to build decent g

It was pretty straight forward.

Red 202, dynamically balanced, gas cam, stage 3 head, Electronic VK Comm dizzy, Holley 350 carby, Torco manifold, Impco high flow LPG mixer, Walker Motorvator extractors, turbo muffler, 2 1/4 " exhaust.

It has all cha
